Thugs, The Musical update:
So, here’s what happened. Last Friday morning, I issued a challenge to all my friends, fans, and supporters of the Thugs, The Musical movie I’m currently trying to raise money for. The challenge was this: Anyone who donated on Friday, up until Saturday at noon would have their names written into a special thank you song to be sung by me and posted on the internet.
Well, the response was amazing. Because of everyone that donated, we reached over $1000 in a day and a half, which has put us 40% of the way to our Kickstarter goal of $10,000 in just 15 days! I can’t thank you all enough.
And so, as my thank you to my 36 Hour donors, and everyone who’s donated to Thugs, The Musical so far, here is that special song just for you…

A lot of you might be familiar with this routine from my act. Well, I wrote a short film based on that, found someone who wanted to direct it, and now we’re trying to raise enough money through Kickstarter.com to turn it into a real-live, super-hilarious short film, featuring yours truly.
The coolest part is that if we raise the funds, we have commitments from Margaret Cho (Drop Dead Diva), David Alan Grier (Chocolate News, In Living Color), and Rachel True (Half & Half, The Craft) to be in the film. On top of that, Liam Sullivan, the director/creator of the very funny and very popular Shoes and Let Me Borrow That Top music videos, will be directing!
We have the ambitious goal of raising $10,000 in 90 days. If you want to help us make this movie, you can contribute at any level starting at $1. In addition, we have a ton of fun prizes at various donation-levels, as a thank you for your support, including tickets to a Margaret Cho and/or David Alan Grier show, signed posters from the film, and even a personal “thank you” voicemail from me…in the style of Morgan Freeman. And there’s a ton of other stuff too (including a spot in the movie)!
And if you think this project is cool, please share this link. Any bit of love helps, and I greatly, greatly appreciate it!
